Interview with a Realtor

My Pricing, Discounts And Fees

My commission is always negotiable and I welcome an opportunity to fully explain my services to prospective sellers. Because of my experience and knowledge of the Phoenix real estate market, a seller who elects to with me is more likely to receive MORE money for their home as compared to attempting to sell their own home or working with a part-time or inexperienced sales agent. Good news if you’re a buyer! I won’t charge you a cent – and if you’re looking to buy a new construction home, I often give buyers a rebate for working with me.

My Typical Process For Working With New Customers

I try to learn as much as possible about my clients so that I can help them find the exact home they’re looking for. I start out by asking many important questions such as what areas of town they want to live in, the amenities they need and when they’re looking to move. If they are not already working with a lender, I match them up with one of my best loan officers in the industry.

Many of my clients are first time home buyers who have not experienced the home buying process. I take the time to educate them about the process so they have no surprises later into the transaction. Many of my clients have different needs and desires and I make it my number one goal to understand them so we can make home buying an exciting and fun experience. The last thing anyone needs is more stress for such an important decision.

When I work with home sellers, my number one goal is to get their home sold for the most amount of money in the shortest amount of time.

I make sure the seller understands the correct market value for their home and I help them solve any problems that could occur throughout the process. Keeping in touch and constantly communicating with the seller is the number one thing every professional should do – even if there isn’t anything to communicate.

I introduce sellers to other trusted professionals such as attorneys and CPAs. I arrange for contractors, pool cleaners, roof inspectors, plumbers and electricians as needed. Making the process easy and hassle free for my clients is my number one goal.

Training That Relates To My Work

Licensed Real Estate professionals such as myself must attend 90 hours of training from an accredited real estate school. I completed my education at the Westford School of Real Estate in Glendale, AZ. Every 2 years licensed Arizona agents must complete a minimum of 24 hours of continuing education. In addition to the mandatory education requirements, I have earned a Master of Architecture Degree from the University of Nevada Las Vegas in 1998 and a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Design from Arizona State University in 1994. I owned and operated my own web design and graphic art company for 10 years and have an extensive background in marketing, advertising and sales.

How I Got Started In Real Estate

In the past I worked for a number of well-known retail outlets while pursuing a degree in Architecture. Once I graduated from college, I worked for 5 years as an intern Architect in Oregon and Arizona. While in school, I became interested in marketing and selling ideas. I volunteered my time helping small business get started by providing them with web sites, logos and brand identities up until 2003. I always enjoyed helping others achieve success and wanted to make a difference in their lives. This is what motivated me in becoming a Realtor.

Types Of Customers I Have Worked With

I worked with a large variety of clients, including investors and first-time buyers. I’ve worked with families, retirees, millennials and others with diverse backgrounds, experiences and goals. Over the years, my past experiences have prepared me for what I do now.

Advice To A Buyer Or Seller Looking To Hire A Realtor In The Phoenix Area

Make sure your agent is knowledgeable about the area. Make sure your agent takes the time to clearly explain the process. It’s a major decision for one to buy or sell a home. You need a professional that “has your back”. I often remember back to when I bought my first home. Luckily for me, I represented myself in the transaction. I won’t lie by saying I didn’t have some stress during different points of the sale. You need an agent who works for you – NOT HIM OR HERSELF. And of course you need a professional you can feel comfortable with and can work with.

Questions A Customer Should Think About Before Talking To A Realtor

I believe in “gut feelings” and instincts. Trust them! If you just talk to them and listen closely to what they say and how they say it, you will learn so very much. Much more than an email or text can provide. Don’t be afraid to ask any question you want. Don’t feel silly about it either. This is you and your family’s life. We are all sales people. Some are better at negotiating than others. Find that one agent who will support YOUR interests no matter what. When I first started out, I used to fall in love with some of the homes I showed to my buyers. I felt so deflated when they turned them down. I mean, what was I doing wrong? After some time, I came to realize it isn’t what makes me happy – it’s what makes my clients happy. Once I learned that valuable lesson, my joy shifted to watching the smiles and relief on my clients faces when I tell them their house is SOLD or say “here’s your new set of keys to YOUR NEW HOME”.
